The Mission

The mission is to celebrate independent films and their makers from all over the world.

I program a pair of independent film series here in NYC.

FilmFest Reloaded is a free, weekly, Staten Island-based screening series of independent feature and short films hosted by Staten Island’s own, Bill Woods (yep, I grew up here).

The FilmFest Reloaded format relies on showing independent films that don’t currently have distribution, followed by in-person interviews with their filmmakers and audience Q&A.

The series started in October 2001 in a Staten Island coffee house and continues in a bar / restaruant called Karl's Klipper.

The chairman of Anthology Film Archives, Barney Oldfield, approached me to program a higher profile series in Manhattan. Over the last three years, I have had the honor to program the New Filmmakers series. Now going into it's tenth season.

The mission of both series is getting people to consider an independent film road trip, explore and discuss the truer version of independent films. The attempt to give filmmakers their shot and get the audience a new experience.
